KENNETH LUM: BASE / PROGETTI PER L'ARTE

Base / Progetti per l'Arte, located in Florence, presents Necropolis, a new project by Ken Lum. Born from chance, when the artist happened upon a front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer printed in the aftermath of the Lincoln assassination, the work features cascading text inspired by the newspaper's summary of the president's life. Through variation in font, style, and spacing, Ken Lum creates a dynamic textual representation of the individual, and the series continues Lum's long fascination with  subjective written imaginary.

The opening of Necropolis took place Friday, June 10th 2016 at 6:30 pm, and the exhibition will run June 10th until September 10th.
